going mobile...
Trying out my blogger app. Thinking about getting back into the blogger site-- making a more crafty-based blog. Hmmm....

Well, that was easy.
Ha. I have been busy being creative tis weekend. Still obsessed with my latest of learned projects, knitting, I made myself a super cute cowl (neck warmer). I should add pictures sometime huh? I also made a few more super cute wool felted coffee cup cozies. Love them. Really.
Etsy may be a new form of crack for me. How is it that I have never taken the time to really look around on the site? I still have only scratched the surface, but had a great time doing it! I bought a super cute scarf pattern that I am excited to learn how to do. It involves cable knits, which I am clueless on but have been advised that hey really are not that bad. Ehhhh, we'll see.
I start a new organizational project tomorrow at a clients house. VERY exciting for me. I also made some business cards tonight on good ol' Vistaprint.com, a trusted favorite site of mine. The business cards are for my organizational/ interior design business- I mean, if I am going to do this, then I am doing it all the way! I aso made the cutest Christmas cards on Vistaprint this weekend. I am a cheap-o though, and only ordered the free ones. So I made a few orders to make sure I had enough for all my peeps. I really wanted to make my cards by hand again this year, but dang it, I just don't have the time, and besides, my craft room is one of the rooms not unpacked and organized yet....yikes.
So that is it, in a nutshell. I hope everyone has a great week!

Holy Etsy Batman!
Just a quick post to admit my new obsession with Etsy. WOW. Christi, you will be getting an order from me for some of your wonderful clay buttons! I have a few little projects of my own that I think they will look lovely on! I also found a cute little Japanese fabric funky little coin purse, and I am SO eyeballing a super cute pleated corduroy purse, which just happens to be on sale until Tuesday. YAY!
For anyone who reads this and sells on Etsy, what do you like about the site as a seller? And what do you dislike? I am thinking about setting up shop, and want to make sure I get all of the info first!
One more question: Does anyone know where to get tags made (fabric tags for bags and fabric items) ? I have seen them all over Etsy, so I know it is possible. I'm sure I am just making it Way too hard...lol!
Ok, that's all I've got for now. It is almost 12:15 am here and I have been snooping around Etsy for HOURS! Goodnight!

Getting the hang of things!
Ok, so I seem to be getting the hang of this Blogger site...well, I think so anyway...HA!
Lots going on right now, the biggest of which is that it is FREAKING COLD here!! Boo.
I also learned how to knit at the local bookstore/yarn and fabric place 15 miles from here. I made my first scarf and I have made several dish cloths...GO ME! I have the basic "knit" or "garter" stitch down, but I would like to learn how to do the purl stitch. Apparently it isn't that hard, so we will see! And some of the patterns (ones with more complex directions) look like a foreign language to me! I would like to learn how to do basic hats and some socks perhaps. And MAYBE even attempt a blanket- but let's not push it Right now. Need to master the dish cloth...lol.
The house is finally looking like a home, and all I have left to organize is my craft room (OHHHHH that's gonna be a job!!!) and our office area. We also just finished putting new flooring and painting the bathroom upstairs, so I will take a few minutes to hang pictures, arrange drawers, and so on in that room. Otherwise the house is well organized and functional! (Y-A-Y-!!!!!). I will (eventually) clean out and get rid of the "extras" from the basement, but that is not top priority right now...knitting is! =0)
I attended a craft show this weekend and what a great time I had! I am also getting into the "felting"...I did it years ago in a different way, but now want to make some bags and accessories with the wool!! I am also diving into the world of "recycled bags" using old wool, or just old sweaters, sweatshirts, jeans, cargo pants, etc!! I am such a bag girl that I think I will have a great time doing this! I met a woman yesterday who was known as the "quilt lady"- she searches junk and antique stores for old quilts, fabrics, and chenille blankets and makes tote bags (large and small), jackets, pillows, and cute little "trinket" gifts out of them. I bought the cutest red and white maple leaf quilt tote bag!! I liked it because you don't see red and white quilts often...then I realized living so close to Canada, people may think I am Canadian...Oh well, the bag is still cute!
I have been feeling very creative lately! It feels great!! I will try to post pictures of my handiness as I get some things done!
Ok, I am going to TRY and start sorting and organizing my craft room...wish me LUCK!

Rain, sump pumps, and flooding (OH MY!)...
So, I just moved to Minnesota. Not as exciting as I imagined it to be....seriously. I have been told that I could make friends with a tree stump if I had to...and I may have to.
Just when I thought things couldn't get worse, they did. Friday night we had a huge rain storm. No biggie. We have had rain in the month since we have lived here and all has been well. WELL...not this time. You know how houses have sump pumps? Those handy little things that help keep water OUT of your house? Yeah. Well, ours decided to have a stroke or something, and didn't work during the above mentioned BIG rainstorm....at all. What does that mean? Water in the basement. And why is that bad? Because the movers put a crapload of boxes down there. Yep. And the worse part? We didn't realize it until YESTERDAY. Yepppp. So now? Sorting through the boxes to see what can be saved...and OH, FYI, wet cardboard smells like a rotting dead animal...seriously.
We called service master out to look at the damage and give an estimate on drying and sanitizing the basement (we don't want MOLD for God's sake!!). Well, the bad news is that my husband waived the "Basement backup protection insurance" when he got house insurance. Yeah. Maybe we should have discussed it? Too late now I suppose. I head the lady who came to install some blower fans and do an estimate say the numbers 2-5k to fix the mess. Yeah. Hopefully she is just really bad at math and the estimate will come back muuuuuuuch lower.
Ok, so the servicemaster lady left, she will be back on Thursday to check the fans and see how dry the basement is. She felt sorry for us and is giving us the hookup on somne freebies. Praise Service master! lol. NOw, before Thursday, I have to go through the rest of the boxes, and we have to get the piece of wet carpet out of the basement...gross.
And did I mention that I am heading back to Indiana on Wednesday? Yep. So I am going to bust a move and try to get as much done as I can, so Andy (poor dear husband) has less to do daily after working all day.
So, THIS is what it is like to live in Minnesota, eh?!
